Vintage Chalkware Santa Bank Two Sided

 

The lightweight molded chalk figure of Santa Claus has different designs front to back. On the one side, his eyes are squinted and he’s chuckling as he hands out gifts. On the other side the gifts are still in the bag and he’s a bit more serious (he must have encountered someone on the naughty list). The bank is hand painted with bright colors.

 

At the top of the cap is a slot for inserting coins. The base is unglazed. The bank has its original rubber stopper on the base. A blue paper label on the base reads, “MADE IN JAPAN”.

 

 

8” (20.3 cm) tall x 4” (10.2 cm) deep x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) wide. Weighs 12.8 oz (365 g)

 

 

There are no cracks, or breaks. There is a paint chip on the hair above the face on one Santa around the base.  There are also manufacture flaws, such as paint mistakes, spots, and bumps. It has a great look for the age.
