An elaborately decorated metal Middle Eastern bowl with fine artistic workmanship.
The mixed metal bowl has been painted gold, silver and black enamels to create an intricate design of vines and arabesques. The workmanship is very minute and fine. The metal is thick and heavy, and the interior and base show the silver metal color.
The bowl has no hallmarks or labels.
MEASUREMENTS
5” (12.7 cm) diameter x 2 5/8” (6.7 cm) tall. Weighs 9.7 oz (285 g)
CONDITION
There is one dent on the lower body above the base. Otherwise, there are no other breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. There are several areas where the gold color covers the black and silver, particularly in areas surrounding the dent. The metal has oxidized from time, and both the metal and enamels show mild wear.
