A hand painted and handmade lidded jar that has been painted in an amazing design of swirls and scrolling. It looks like a Mughal garden.
 
The papier mâché lidded jar has been coated in a dark paint and then painted with a free detailed design in many colors. The lid has a tall round finial. The base has a raised foot. The bottom of the jar has been painted with a clear coating.
 
There is an old red and white paper label with the words MADE IN INDIA.
 
MEASUREMENTS
 
5 ¼” (13.3 cm) diameter x 7 ¼” (18.4 cm) tall. Weighs 9.2 oz (260 g)
 
CONDITION
 
There is wear to the edges of the foot, mouth and lid, the top of the finial, and a few spots on the body. There are also two gouges on the body. The colors are still bright and colorful. It is old and it is papier mâché.
 
A great lidded jar to store treasures in or decorate with that Boho style.
