A highly detailed mirror pair of Chinese Republic era wall pockets made to represent crabs and bamboo.

Molded and slab formed shiwan clay pair of wall pockets that have realistic depictions of crabs and bamboo added. The crabs have been given a realistic brown glaze. The rest of the wall pocket has a celadon green glaze. The backs, interiors, and bases are not glazed.

They have the mark CHINA in red stamped on the backs of both.

MEASUREMENTS

6 7/8” (17.5 cm) long x 5 ¾” (14.6 cm) wide x 3” (7.6 cm) deep. Weighs 3 lbs 12 oz (1700 g)

CONDITION

There are no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. They are in excellent condition for being so old.
