Mid Century Chinese Scholar Polychrome Porcelain Lamp 1950’s
A lamp made from a very intricately decorated polychrome porcelain in the shape of a scholar with scroll.
The scholar has been hand decorated with very fine painting in many colors, especially the robe. The polychromes have many gilt accents to catch and reflect the light. The figure is set into a brass two tiered and pierced stand. The bottom stand level has a nice molded scrolling Chinese floral design.
There are no marks showing. It may have a mark on the underside, but this was covered in fabric after the lamp was rewired.

The metal work on the fixture is dark from age. There are oxidization marks on the base brass as well. The lamp has been rewired with a modern cord and plug.
A large decorative lamp that is colorful and useful. Add some color and glitter to your décor.
