A hand painted censer that is bright from the extensive use of gilding to highlight a very intricate and delicate designs of children with their instructors.

The ceramic censer has wide arms and a hexagonal mouth. The three legs are molded with the faces of of Buddhist lions. Painting on the shoulder and mouth looks like brocade fabric designs.

The censer has no maker’s mark or label.

MEASUREMENTS

5” (12.7 cm) wide x 2 ¾” (7.0 cm) deep x 5” (12.7 cm) tall. Weighs 15.1 oz (440 g)

CONDITION

The censer is missing the lid but it still has a good look. There is wear to the gilding on the arms and mouth rim. It has are no cracks, chips, breaks or repairs.

A very finely painted Satsuma censer that will richness to your home or collection.
