An auspicious jade in the shape of a butterfly with nice translucence, weight and with few inclusions.
The very pale green, almost white jade has been carved into the shape of a butterfly. It has a nice soft hand polished surface with intricate, rounded, deep carvings. The back is flat. It was probably sewn onto fabric.
MEASUREMENTS
2 11/16" (70 mm) wide x 1 1/2" (38 mm) tall x 5 mm thick. Weighs .5 oz (14.1 g)
CONDITION
The tip of the left wing is missing. There are no other chips, cracks, or breaks.
A nicely colored, old jade to be used for jewelry or added to a jade collection.
