An antique cast iron bank with a great sculptural look of a bear.
A heavy casting in two pieces of a bear that has a flat head original screw holding the two pieces together. It has a red painted mouth with two gold painted eyes. The bear rests firmly on its four paws.
There are no marks or labels but the bank was produced by the Arcade Manufacturing Company. Arcade was well known for their cast iron and steel toys.
MEASUREMENTS
3 7/8” (9.8 cm) long x 1 ½” (3.8 cm) wide x 2 5/8” (6.7 cm) tall. Weighs 9.1 oz (260 g)
CONDITION
There are no breaks, cracks, dents or repairs. The black patina is worn in many places, showing the dark iron body and small rust stains. The red painted mouth and gold on the eyes are also worn.
A great cast iron bank to add to your collection of banks or bears.
